![]() ![]() I think you wont have any trouble with the transition. I was a Logic user back when it was both PC and Mac. Is there an equivalent in Sonar Production? The exs-24 is a great sampler that I would miss. If anyone has advice on the synths or instruments that come with Sonar in comparison to Logic I would appreciate real world feedback. I will migrate into Premiere Pro for Win7 when CS5 hits and hopefully gain some sanity back in supporting one less platform.Īgain, this is not meant to be a 'this is better than that' flame, just one man's journey through computing land. I may always have a macbook pro hanging around (running windows 64 bit something)but I'm done counting on Apple for my Pro Apps. I have been testing Win 7 for some time and feel pretty good about where this is heading. I have large investments in software on both platforms but all my higher end plugins and 3D stuff has always been on the Windows side. I have decided to slowly migrate back to a PC only setup. I'm astounded by the difference!Īpple forcing me into a new machine to get the new functionality I would like to have in the new Logic 9 was my last straw. This i7 quad actually beats any 8-core mac I've used and by quite a bit in After Effects and Lightwave 3D for rendering. So here's the rub - Since I enjoy building all my own PC's I built one just for Sonar. I do have an Intel MacPro quad 2.66 I could use but it's busy most of the time editing in Final Cut. I am completely agnostic about the tools I use so what I'm posting here is more about work-flow, cost containment and sanity checks. My studio has used Pc's and Macs since 1995. I work in content creation, sound design, 3D visualizations and Digital Signage. Recently, with the upgrades coming to Logic I have been forced to look at my studio in a new light. T's Music Studio if any of you remember that one! So I've been doing DAW stuff since we could. I have been a Logic Pro user since version 5 and a digital performer user before that. I've been researching Sonar for some time now. Moving from Logic to Sonar - Help appreciated ![]()
